As I am sure you are all aware, in business you sometimes experience stumbling blocks which are unavoidable.  Just over a year ago, we were contacted by Avery Dennison Corporation, the creator of Avery labels and many other products, to inform us that the “Pathfinder” name violated their trademark rights.  Avery Dennison has a handheld hardware product called “Pathfinder” which helps control inventory.  Since a portion of our software is for inventory control, Avery Dennison felt the two products were too closely related, and would cause their business harm.

Instead of involving ourselves in a legal battle, we decided to take the opportunity to rebrand ourselves, and truly make lemonade out of the lemons we felt we had been served.  I would be lying if I said this process has been easy.  We have spent many hours in meetings, consulted with outside expertise, and accepted the challenges of using a side of our brain which lies dormant most of the time.  What has arisen from all of this effort is truly exceptional, and better represents both who we are and what we do.

Moving forward, the new name of our company will be CenterEdge Software.  In the next few weeks, you will see a drastic change on our website, and you will hear us stumbling as we try to remember to answer the phone “CenterEdge” instead of “Pathfinder”.

I want to assure you that nothing else has changed.  All of the same employees work for CenterEdge Software, and will continue to provide the same excellent customer service.  All the same owners are still involved, as is our mission to provide the best product in the industry.  All of our paperwork still flows through the same avenues.  Our address is still the same, as are our phone numbers.  The only item that is changing is our name and our brand.  I think you will be pleasantly surprised.

Please let me know if you have any questions or comments.  As always, if we are not exceeding your expectations, I want to know.

Thank you for your continued support and your future patronage.

Marcus
